This notice explains how Miko ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use this website, take a free audit call, or receive an outreach message from us. If anything here is unclear, email hello@getmiko.co.uk.
Who we are
Miko provides an AI phone assistant for businesses in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. For the free audit call and our outreach, Miko is the data controller. When we run a phone assistant for a client business, that client is the controller for their callers' data and we act as their processor under a separate agreement.
The free audit call
When you take an audit, you speak to a virtual assistant (not a person). We tell you this at the start. The call is recorded and transcribed so we can prepare your written summary. During the call you may give business details and contact details (such as your name, business name, phone number and email) so we can send you the summary and follow up.
What we collect and why
- Audit call recording and transcript, to understand how enquiries reach your business and prepare your written summary.
- Contact and business details you provide, to send you the summary and, if you're interested, a proposal.
- Basic website and request data, such as your IP address, used only to keep the audit line available and prevent abuse. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: assessing whether our service could help your business and following up on your enquiry. You can object at any time (see "Your rights").
Outreach messages
If we contacted you by email or message, it's a business-to-business approach based on legitimate interest. Every message includes a way to opt out, and we'll stop on request. To opt out at any time, reply to the message or email hello@getmiko.co.uk with "unsubscribe".
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service, for example our voice/AI platform (to run the call), our email provider (to send the summary), and our hosting and infrastructure providers. They process the data on our instructions only. We don't sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep audit recordings, transcripts and summaries for up to 12 months, then delete them, unless you become a client and we need them for the service. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or to stop using it. Email hello@getmiko.co.uk and we'll respond. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
